Don Hearing named Community Leader of the Year by the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce
Mr. Hearing is owner and Vice President of Cotleur & Hearing Landscape Architects, Land Planners and Environmental Consultants with thirty years of experience in this discipline. He has been practicing in south Florida since 1982.
Mr. Hearing serves as Vice President and Director of Cotleur & Hearing Investments, an active real estate development company with assets in Palm Beach and St. Lucie County. He serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Council of Palm Beach County. Additionally, Mr. Hearing is an active Director of the PGA Corridor Association and the Lighthouse Center for the Arts as well as a Board Member for the Borland Center for Community Enrichment and Jupiter Christian School.
In conjunction with his business interests, Mr. Hearing is actively involved in numerous charitable organizations which include Christ Fellowship Church, Palm Beach Community Church, Palm Beach Gardens Jewish Chabad, The Place and Villages of Hope, Teen Challenge of Florida and the West Jupiter Tutorial Center to name a few.
Mr. Hearing was raised in south Florida. He is a state of Florida registered landscape architect and honor graduate from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree and is a Certified LEED Accredited Professional. In 2011, the American Institute of Architects recognized Mr. Hearing as Landscape Architect of the year for Palm Beach County.
Mr. Hearing and his wife, Suzanne, reside in Jupiter, Florida along with their three daughters, Ariel, Kalee and Alyssa. Ariel, a former Valedictorian of Jupiter Christian School, currently attends Palm Beach Atlantic University Gregory School of Pharmacy where she is on the President's List and a recent recipient of the Pharmacy Honors and Service Scholarship which is the highest level of scholarship for the Pharmacy Program. Kalee graduated this year as Valedictorian from Jupiter Christian School and will be attending the University of Florida. Alyssa is a senior academic scholar and soccer athlete at Jupiter Christian School.
