A walking tour of Bok Tower Gardens including the historic landscape gardens and a series of new projects designed by Nelson Byrd Woltz and Coyle & Caron that opened in 2016. The new gardens, including ‘ecotype’ landscapes have required staff to adapt and find new management practices.

Buses
The buses will depart from the following two locations:

The buses will leave the gardens at 3:30 PM.
Meet the Speakers:
Sally Coyle is a landscape architect and Principal at Coyle & Caron Inc. Her work for the past thirty-five years has focused on design, conservation, and the influence of detail, materiality, and construction processes on the aesthetics and functionality of designed landscapes. From 2012-2016 Coyle & Caron worked with Nelson Byrd Woltz on the design and implementation of a series of new gardens that transformed Bok Tower Gardens. Sally has a BLA from the University of Florida and an MLA from Harvard University.
Brendan Huggins has 15 years of experience in all aspects of horticulture management at public gardens. He joined Bok Tower Gardens in 2019 as Director of Horticulture where he oversees staff in the historic gardens and ‘ecotype’ landscapes. Prior to moving to Florida, he was Director of Horticulture at Moore Farms Botanical Garden. Brendan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of Delaware.
