The tour will begin at 4Roots Farm focusing on the first phase of construction of the Education Building, Greenhouse, and Food Forest. The walking portion will begin with The Grove Park, including a new YMCA, townhomes, Tennis Center, trails and signature pavilion followed by walk along Princeton St. to experience this industrial road transformation to a walkable corridor. The Juice Stand recreates the Historic Dr. Phillips roadside venue and the Food Hall featuring the adaptive reuse of an existing building, a gathering space dubbed “The Plinth” and floating concrete architectural canopies.

Disney Springs is a public entertainment complex that hosts millions of visitors annually. By attendance volume it is second only to Magic Kingdom across the whole of Disney’s Portfolio. This tour – led by current and former Imagineers – will be an opportunity to learn about the efforts undertaken to bring this site to fruition. Learn how Disney designed and oversaw the creation of a seamless guest experience from master planning all the way through construction.

Belgard Plant Tour and Installation

1. Participants will attend a Manufacturing, Paver and Block plant tour to see an operating facility using computer-controlled equipment to manufacture concrete pavers and retaining wall block.
a. Understand the requirements of ASTM C936 Standard Specification for Interlocking Paving Units.
b. Plant operators will describe how aggregate, water and cement are consolidated in molds and cured to obtain a high strength durable product.
c. See the process from start to finish.
2. Second, there will be a live paver installation demonstration showing a sand-set application.
3. After the tour, join the party! Belgard will host a party at their Outdoor Living Showroom, with high-end appetizers and a bartender serving beer and wine. We will also be giving away prizes!

With the goal of communicating recent advances and promoting he adoption of sustainable landscape practices in Florida, a group of private industry professionals, university researchers, government agency personnel, and non-governmental partners has been actively involved in a collaborative called ‘OUTSIDE’. This tour will share updated insight into that effort and provide opportunities to view test plots and planting techniques that will share updated insight into that effort and provide opportunities to view Cherrylake nursery’s test plots and planting and maintenance techniques that illustrate lessons learned as we work to reach goals of shifting the landscape paradigm towards sustainable practices. The tour leaders represent the chain of custody who will offer their perspectives with opportunities for discussion and engagement.
