This course will stress the importance of sketching in research and analysis of local vernacular gardens, landscape architectural typologies of forms, artifacts, motifs, space relationships and how they are used to create timeless “Continuity of the Vernacular” projects. This course will also demonstrate how on and off-site research, note-taking and sketching can help to create successful Biomimicry and Biophilic designs that trigger a positive impact on our health and well-being. Case Studies include projects in Kenya; Galapagos, Australia, China; Sri Lanka, Ivory Coast, Rwanda and Dominica.

This course is will provide 1.5 Continuing Education Credit.
